Volvo will introduce a plug-in hybrid in 2012

Volvo will launch a European test fleet of its C30 EV this year. Test fleets also will operate in the United States and China next year. Volvo CEO Stefan Jacoby declines to say when the car will be in dealer showrooms.

Jacoby said Volvo will introduce a plug-in hybrid in 2012, with U.S. retail sales beginning after 2013. Most likely that will be the plug-in diesel-electric V60 wagon Volvo will show at the Geneva auto show. Production is scheduled to begin in 2012.
