However, now Volvo and Siemens have developed a system that only required an hour and a half of charging. This new breakthrough will make EVs far more practical and useful, as well as increase their travel range within a day. The shorter charge period reduces down time and allows drivers far more flexibility and drive time instead.

The new system is being tested in Europe on Volvo C30s currently, so many fans hope to see a similar venture arrive in the U.S. soon, particularly with the larger market of EV fans.
