According to Smart Planet Daily, Volvo is developing a concept car that will park itself. Now, mind what we just said. This isn't an app that will find you a vacant spot. Those already exist. And this isn't hands-free parking.
No, you won't even have to wait around. You'd just drop this car off in the parking lot, and be on your way. Come back later and it will be waiting for you. The underlying technology is based on road sensors, a technology that is also developing. So we'll have to wait on that. But, for now, you can check it out and also link to Volvo's press release.
