Andy Pilgrim's career on the track, while admirable, began this year with a feeling like he was Rodney Dangerfield, he "didn't get no respect". After all, the Volvo S60 was up against competitors driving Mustangs, Corvettes and Porsches in the awesome World Challenge Series.
As the season is winding down, Pilgrim and Randy Pobst, his teammate, have clinched the Driver’s Championship and the Manufacturer’s Championship - not bad.
We at Turner Volvo, are particularly excited at this achievement.
The 2011 Volvo S60 carries a base price of $37,700. The "Pedestrian Protection with full Auto-Brake System" uses a serious mix of front-mounted radar and a camera fitted in front of the rearview mirror to consistantly scan the road around it. Up to 22 mph, the system will detect when a person walks in front of the vehicle and bring the Volvo to a quick stop, and if that's not impressive enough; at higher speeds it slows the S60 down enough to reduce a likely impact.

For those of us who’ve long appreciated the safety and durability of our Volvos, the new s60 is an exciting addition to the Swedish maker’s line-up. Now, add the superior performance and impressive good looks of the 2011 S60 Volvo seems certain to broaden its appeal. This is a true case of thinking outside the box.
